Based in Cape Town and Dubai, Hugo runs his private tax practice and a joint venture tax emigration / 🇦🇪 expat business. Hugo’s mission is to assist expats or “WEG”kaners (away Africans as fondly refers to his client base) in ll respects. From tax to also legally reconcile themselves, as foreign resident expats, with their ZA Rand wallets and retirement funds. Without incurring the formal emigration expense, unless necessary.

Hugo emigrated his first client in May 1993, two months after the Chris Hani murder and can rightfully claim to be one of the most experienced formal (aka financial) emigration process.

Hugo is often asked why the name TaxForum? Many years ago, around the time clients were packing for Perth and others stashed tinned food and water in their garage, there was a tax forum workgroup amongst Pretoria based Chartered Accountants. The tax forum was initiated by Hugo to assist his Practitioner Forum members, and their clients, with international tax and in this process, promising not to steal their clients.

Today, not only serving SA Expats, Hugo takes pride in supporting his colleagues without poaching their clients. Taxforum (the spare wheel) can be called as and when required.
